About the resource

Scoping studies are an essential part of the Freedom Fund’s program development process. During the scoping process, which is typically conducted by a locally-based consultant, we engage with potential partners and other experts to evaluate areas such as prevalence of modern slavery, civil society presence and operational feasibility. The scoping study is also another way we begin to engage with potential grantee partners, building trust and rapport and ensuring that any future strategy is reflective of their vision for change.

This download includes a sample scoping study that was completed for the Freedom Fund’s Brazil hotspot, which addresses the commercial sexual exploitation of children and is now fully operational.
